    Patrol Teams Informal

    Haunted House

Equipment: Blanket hung up as a curtain, miscellaneous props for making sounds.
Method: Patrols are seated in front of the curtain. Behind the curtain are two boys who produce var• ious sounds for the Scouts to recognize and remember, such as: turn pages of a book, unwrap cellophane wrapper, break stick, strike match, hammer nail, and so on. After the demonstration, patrols retire to their corners to make a list of noises heard.

Scoring: Three points for each sound listed.

Variation: Overheard Plot. Instead of making noises, the two Scouts behind the curtain engage in a dialogue-planning, for example, the burying of a dead skunk or the killing of a turkeyspeaking in either case of "him" instead of calling the animal or fowl by name. Patrols go to their corners and write reports. Their results may surpnse you.
