    Winning Isn't Everything

A hard-nosed coach once said, "Winning isn't very thing, but it sure beats whatever is second."

There's some truth in that. Everyone, likes to win.
    Very few people enjoy losing.
The trouble is that in every kind comition there must be losers as well as winnef1;.Th'-At~true in sports, and it's also true in t:h~_COfug~~~~i~ns we will have next week at our campout:(or:safl1Poree).
It's also true in life. You and every: btherhMman being find that sometimes you have 'tobe ~loser. Perhaps your sports team loses a';gatne'_pn an unlucky break. Or maybe you work hard in school but get low grades. Some peppl~ rnig:l*~a,Yyou're
    , a loser. C,' ,
Maybe so. But you don't have to stay a'f£;>ser. The
.. real difference between winners an~losetsi~ that a loss makes some people more determined to do better the next time. In the long run, tHey are winners because they learn to profit by their defeats
    . and mistakes. '. ,
No, winning isn't everything. We can learn from losses, too. Let's remember that at the campout and
    in the years to come.
